The IC-2820 is the successor to the popular IC-2725 and inherits many features from its predecessor including; VHF/VHF, UHH/UHF simultaneous receive capability, wideband receive, independent tuning knobs, and a separate controller. In addition to this new features include diversity receive capability, a full dot-matrix display and 50W output power in both VHF and UHF bands, all in one stylish mobile set.
With the optional UT-123 Digital/GPS unit installed the IC-E2820 advanced mobile is capable of both D-STAR Digital Voice and GPS operation. The IC-E2820 GPS features include; position information exchange, plotting your position onto mapping software on a PC.
