I purchased the Rfinder HCP-1 for use with an Icom IC-705 as the repeaters in my area are either busy or don't have internet gateways!
The default IP address for this device is 192.168.50. 1 It's not advertised on the packaging and as there isn't a user manual this may save you having to scour the internet.
Once you have logged in to the pi-star configuration page take a moment to familiarise yourself with it before changing settings. I mention this as this was my first pi-star device and clicking on the wrong setting caused the default modem setting to disappear. So, if like me you are new to setting up a hotspot do create a backup first!
Setup was incredibly easy - there are youtube video's if you are not sure, but to be honest, for D-Star you select that mode, call sign, frequency and maybe a few additional settings depending on your requirements and away you go :)
This hotspot is pricey, but consider that you are getting a device a with a display that shows you status, call signs and other relevant info without having to use the dashboard on the pi-star console. I think it's a worthwhile investment.
