With a maximum 5 amp charging current, this high power charger is suitable for any lead acid (Normal, Maintenance Free, CA-CA, AGM and Gel) battery that is between 10 - 120AH in capacity.
Aside from benefiting from a highly advanced 8 step computer controlled charging and analysis process, this unit also has the added feature of a pulse mode - meaning that the charger can remain connected and will continue to monitor and automatically charge the battery when the voltage drops, without wearing out the battery, making it ideal for use in Caravans and Motorhomes.
14 seperate visual indicators on the face of the unit provide the operator with visual feedback as to the charging mode, step, status, and battery condition. Presented in very attractive full colour retail packaging, making it ideal as a gift.
Highly intelligent computer controlled 8 step charging process;
Step 1: Desulphation - Detects sulphated batteries. The pulsing current and voltage removes the sulphate from the lead plates of the battery, restoring the battery capcity. Step 2: Soft Start - Tests if the battery can accept charge, this useful safety feature prevents the batttery from being charged if it is defective or damaged. Step 3: Bulk - During this stage the battery charger charges the battery with the maximum available current, until the battery is at approximately 80% capacity. Step 4: Absorption - At this point the battery is charged with a declining current in order to maximize the battery up to 100% capacity. Step 5: Analyse - This stage tests if the battery is holding it's charge and provides visual feedback to the opoerator. Step 6: Recondition - This optional programme adds the 'recondition' step to the charging process. During the recondition step the voltage increases to create controlled gasing in the battery. Gasing mixes the battery acid and restores energy into the battery. Step 7: Float - During this stage the battery voltage is maintained at a maximum level in order to produce a constant charge. Step 8: Pulse - Finally the battery is maintained at 95-100% capacity. The cahrger monitors the battery voltage and gives a pulse when neccessary, in order to keep the battery fully charged.
