The oscillator-mixer is voltage regulated by a 78LO5 for beset stability. The antenna input has a high-Q parallel tuned circuit with a front panel RF gain control to minimize interference and prevent overloading from strong signals. it has smooth varicap tuning with a shielded VFO coil for maximum stability. you can configure the tuning to cover the entire band or to cover just a portion of the band for more bandspread tuning.
