Great little antenna
I bought it for portable use and it really fits the bill. Piece of cake to assemble and tuning was very easy on both bands. It fits into the boot of my car without having to take it apart but if I catch the elements on its way in or out, because they are made of stainless steel whips, they just spring back into position undamaged unlike aluminium. As another has also said, the stated gain figures are somewhat dubious but generally very pleased with my purchase Review by Awesome Ian / (Posted on 30/09/2020)
My son bought me this recently as a Birthday prezzie so thought I'd give 2mtr FF and Ssb ago. Never really played much on 2mtrs, but now with this little beam, I'm hooked. Build quality is excellent, performance is stunning and I am loving it. A couple of observations but not enough to mark it down, it can be very sensitive when tuning and it is front end have when using it portable. Get one, honestly you won't regret it. Value for money.
Not robust. machining is ok, materials ok.
I got my SWR down to zero which was unexpected but it was a case of tapping the match to get it, the lock screws are not good probably needs some lock tight. Wing nuts are good.
I dont know about the stated gain whic seems high but it works well and whilst not somthing I would put up outside.
Idea for field or sota breaks down into a 1.5m length bundle or on a permanent basis is happy enough in the loft. Thats where mine is.
Short commings aside its good value for money, Review by Grumpy Cyborg / (Posted on 01/01/2019)
Not impressed
Antenna easy to assemble but the all the elements were off centre and needed adjusting.
Elements are thin and I think will be easy to damage.
Gamma matches are a real pain to adjust even with an analyser.
SWR varies wildly with mounting position/height and surrounding objects, trees etc.
Really am disappointed with this antenna given the previous reviews. Review by Dave / (Posted on 13/07/2016)
Cracking small and portable Yagi
The component quality is top-notch and the aerial was easy to assemble, even though the instructions are slightly out of date and refer to some components which are no longer included or required.

The aerial fits fully assembled in the boot of an Audi TT Mk1, provided the back seats are folded down.

The antenna is in daily use and I'm throughly delighted with it. Review by David / (Posted on 28/03/2016)
good antenna
I have it in loft space works well for me good value for money Review by 2e0bja / (Posted on 24/05/2015)
Simple to put together making a good prospect for portable work owing to its quick assembly, also is a lightweight antenna and the single feed is a bonus. The claimed gain is difficult to prove but all I can say even for the original price it works well for me using two stacked and fed with a short length if mini coax for ease of portability yes there are other antennas for portable use but as I said this is quick and easy assembly. Just one note I have given the feed point a liberal coating of anti corrosive paste as a precaution as I live on 300 mtrs from the north sea and we all know what a salty atmosphere can do.
